You've heard of sterling silver, but have you heard of fine silver?
Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. How is it different from sterling silver? Well sterling silver is 92.5% silver mixed with 7.5% other metals, usually copper. Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver and the result is a beautiful shiny finish that resists tarnish. How can you tell the difference between sterling and fine? Fine silver jewelry will typically carry a hallmark (marking or stamp) of .999FS while sterling silver will carry a hallmark of .925ss or something similar. We've just updated our original custom made line of .999 fine silver jewelry at JCJSilver & Gifts. All pieces are hand forged and made to order in our design studio in upstate New York.
